Parrots and related forms belong to the Order Psittaciformes. These birds are characterized by their unmistakable beak and the bright coloring of their plumage, commonly green combined with red, blue and yellow tones. They are typical of tropical and subtropical regions of the globe, but in Argentina and Chile there are also species that live in temperate and cold regions, such as the Loro Barranquero and the Cachaña. Many species, such as the Talking Parrot, have the ability to imitate the human voice by repeating simple words and phrases. Unfortunately, this ability is detrimental to species like this because wildlife trafficking threatens their populations.
